Pre-School Classes (18months-4years)

Our pre-school dance classes introduce your little one to the magical world of dancing through the use of props, storytelling and imagination. Each week, our dancers go on a different dancing journey, whether it be into space, to the jungle, a day at the beach, or planting seeds in a spring garden. Without realising it, they will develop fundamental motor skills and learn the foundations of movement and ballet steps, such as walking on tip toes, jumping, galloping, skipping and marching. Our pre-school classes are fantastic for building confidence, social skills and helping to prepare your child for starting school and moving up into our graded ballet, tap and modern classes.

Students aged three upwards have the opportunity to perform in our Minis show that takes place every two years. In 2024, our students performed a version of the Nutcracker especially created for them.

Class Descriptions and Timetable

Tiny Turners

For ages 18months-3 years

A parent and toddler dance class that uses stories and props in an imaginative way to introduce little ones to the world of dance.

As it is a parent and toddler class, adults are expected to join in with their little ones, but do not worry- parents do not need to have any dancing abilities! Over time, you will be able to sit and watch, and eventually drop your child with the teacher and wait in the foyer. This gradually increases the child’s focus on the teacher in preparation for moving to the next level class.

Modern is a high-energy dance style that is often seen in Musicals and other theatrical productions. Students learn travelling steps, including kicks, leaps and turns and develop skills such as flexibility, strength, quality of movement and musicality. Students will enjoy experimenting with rhythm and improvisation, encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Tap dancing is not only heaps of fun, it is fantastic for developing co-ordination, a good sense of rhythm and musicality, as well as strong ankles, legs, and core muscles.

With our combined Beginners Modern and Tap class, students can benefit from trying out two different dance styles in one class.
