What some of our former students say about their time at Turning Pointe....

Currently studying a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts at ICTheatre, Brighton
"Turning pointe has had a massive impact on my life. Throughout my childhood I took classes in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Pointe, Street Jazz and Musical Theatre. If I hadn't learnt to express myself through the use of movement from a young age, I would never have found my love and passion for dance and be aiming for a career in Musical Theatre. Dance has helped me gain new learning skills, better musicality, coordination, rhythm as well as making me aware of my body posture and alignment. It has also helped me be in touch with my emotional connection and with my confidence and mentality as a person."

"I can’t recommend Turning Pointe enough to individuals wanting a new hobby or a career in dance. Turning Pointe allowed me to nurture my passion for dance and equipped me with the skills to be able to successfully audition for drama schools in London. The environment created by the teachers was both supportive and inspiring. I’d like to thank Turning Pointe for all of the support and advice I was provided by the lovely teachers."

Currently studying a Dance Degree at Creative Academy
"Turning Pointe was the place where my love of dance began and continued to grow throughout my years of training. I joined for my first Ballet lesson at the age of 12 and also took Modern lessons. Opportunities to be involved in the shows, performances and exams was truly what helped me realise this was the career I wanted to go into. Each teacher at Turning Pointe taught me something different and I will always acknowledge them as the reason I am now lucky enough to train full time on the Dance Degree at Creative Academy. I am currently in my third year, training in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Commercial, Tap and Acro to name a few styles! I have chosen to specialise for my final two years in Contemporary and Commercial and cannot wait to see where my career takes me when I graduate."

Former professional dancer at Norweigan National Ballet
I started at Turning Pointe in 2008 and during my time there made friends of a lifetime - there really is a strong familial element within the school. The training I received was so personal and tailored to help me progress as a dancer that I was later fortunate enough to move into a professional ballet career, working with The Royal Ballet and The Norwegian National Ballet. I strongly believe that having such wonderful teachers and advice at such a vital point of my dance training is the reason I was able to do this. On occasion too, I have also been lucky enough to teach some of the current students at the school and the progress between visits, and the standard of working is incredible - Turning Pointe is truly amazing!
